If you are here, please consider using your talents in a practical way to support the operation of the library. If you are local to the library, there are many tasks that can only be performed at the library. However, there are a number of tasks that can be performed remotely.

If you are interested in customer service and support:

  • Respond to phone, mail or email inquiries:

  • Information research

  • Scan and mail or email information requests

  • Package and mail books or journals

Always wanted to be a librarian:

  • Sort and catalogue new or donated material

  •  Cover retained books with a protective sleeve, add the call number, and shelf

  •  Maintain material on shelves

  •  Identify duplicate material for sale

  • Identify duplicate material for recycling

Have an artistic side:

  • Add descriptive signs on library shelving

Always wanted to be a writer, journalist, or publisher:

  • Be an editor for the Bay Phil, provide input for the new design and scope.

  • Write articles on newly acquired material for publishing on the website or in the Bay Phil

Were interested in sales:

  • Write up duplicate material for sale at Westpex, eBay, WPL auctions, or on the website

  • Set up for the library bookstore at Westpex

  • Set up for auctions at the library

Wanted to be a website developer:

  • Maintain/update the website

Are technically inclined:

  • Inventory and maintain library equipment

  • Recycle excess material and equipment

If you are interested in volunteering at the library, please email Kristin Patterson.
